Free Drop in Talking Clinic

31/05/23, 21:00

Thank you to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery Community Fund for funding us to run a free weekly drop in talking clinic, the Homie Hub.

P2P will host a drop in talking clinic called the “Homie Hub” whereby young people can drop in to our youth friendly space after school on Tuesdays between 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm. They will be welcomed by our Peer Educators who will invite them to engage through social games and activities. There will be no pressure for them to join in until they are ready.

Throughout the session there will be an opportunity for the young people to move on to breakout rooms with a Peer Educator in order to have individual discussions and receive support on any specific issues and/or, just have a safe space to unwind.

We will run this programme for four hours per week during term time (39 weeks in Year 1 and 20 weeks in Year 2) over an 18 month period, providing a total of 236 hours of support. We will staff the Hub with three Peer Educators, allowing individual one to one support to take place at the

same time as the Hub is running. We aim to reach between 300 and 500 young people, with at least 50 returning for regular one to one support.

Our Homie Hub is offered as ‘open access’. As well as engaging with young people who have previously sought our assistance and have reached out for additional help, our sessions will also be open to new participants who are welcome to attend without committing to a minimum or maximum number of sessions. We recognise that all young people are different

and the way in which they face daily challenges are different too.

No costs are incurred by the young people attending our sessions.

We are very excited to get started on this project. More information will be released soon with our start date and venue.
