This week, we have been talking about some common mental health conditions, such as: depression, generalised anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Of course, there are lots of other mental health conditions and even combinations of more than one, that can affect us at any given time for a number of different reasons.
It is important that we educate ourselves about mental health and talk about it openly and honestly with the people we trust. Having a good understanding of symptoms and treatments can help us in the future should we need support for ourselves or others.
It is a fact that children and young people do suffer from mental health conditions as often as adults do. If you are worried about yourself or a friend/family member then it is important to seek support. The NHS provide mental health services which we can often refer ourselves for.
