We are very excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from the Home Office to help tackle knife-crime in Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and the surrounding boroughs.
With this funding, we will be delivering 100 free workshops to the local schools. The workshops will consist of risks and consequences of carrying a knife, where to get help if you or someone you know has been stabbed and ways to improve your self-confidence, stay away from peer pressure and tips to resolve conflict safely.
We will also be recruiting new Peer Educators to deliver this exciting new project.
Working with new Peer Educators and our partner services in the borough, will allow us to offer information and support to the young people we work with and help them to feel safer, valued and secure in their environment. If we can save even one life with our support services, this fund will be well spent.
